putting that as your signature or whatever automatically makes you seem like you think you're better than everyone else because you don't drink or do drugs.

it doesnt make me better than every one else...but it makes me better than people who drink and do drugs (with the exception of people who are addicted and are trying/want to stop

they are becoming society's robots basicly. If we are going to discuss a straight edge lifestyle i just want everyone to know that iam not trying to shove me beliefs down anyones throat. I did not start this thread or the other one.
as a side note: IDK about you guys, but when i am discussing and arguing my points in any thread i am not being hostile or unreceptive to any one others views. I like the fact that we can come on here and have discussions about nuts and hear different sides of the story and what not. Its almost like we can have discussions here and leave it here.

what i mean buy that is alchol and drugs alter your state of mind. The society we live in today places alcohol and drug use on a petadstal. Honestly think about how many movies (hate to use this movies as an example) that have come out that are popular for "teens" that convey alcohol and drug use as a way to have a good time. These messages are clear than most people think yet they are close to being what we would think of as subliminal. People automaticly assume getting blasted or taking a hit is a "good time" because "society" (media and all the bull$hit that goes with it) makes it out to be.
and as far as i know for underage kids it is everyone i cant think of any one who enjoys an adult beverage with a meal or one at a party. It seems to me most of the time its to get hammered
i must ask you what do you think about people who have pics on their myspace/facebook with them getting drunk? are they doing it because they like the taste of the beer or because being seen with a beer/getting wasted is "Cool" (to them)?

i find those pictures on myspace/facebook as annoying as you do. its like "wow you can take a shot... you're so cool". when people are doing things like that then it's so that they can try to look cool through it.
but most of the time when i'm drinking i'm usually not getting drunk and its usually just a beer with dinner when i'm at home or when i'm downstairs shooting pool and listening to music (because that's just a great combination).
when i feel like it i'll get drunk. its a pretty fun thing to do with a few close friends. i'm not saying its the most fun thing, but its just something else to do every once in awhile, when everything else gets stale. or if you just feel like it.

james, you, like me, would be considered POSI straight edge because we dont alienate ourselves from people that do and dont hate on them. if we did that would be militant straight edge
