No I wouldn't consider them punk even the slightest, its more a alternative music some may even call it new wave. I'll give you a list of good songs ignoring the two most popular
Handsome devil What difference does it make This charming man Still ill
Dude there is so many

i have one song recommendation, the track is 12 minutes but the song is over in about 8. it gets really f**king heavy, totally worth the listen. it's instrumental but give it a shot... www.youtube.com/watch?v=RfbjceuNm04

haha no, totally different band. it's a little slow for three minutes but then it picks up really well, much much better than the six flags song

Flock of seagulls is the nuts! I Ran is so nastalgic to all the hours I put in playing Vice City. The Smiths are good too. Really only know the songs from video parts though.

what bands have you gotten into, aka gotten/downloaded an album of, that you first heard in a skate video?
first to come to mind is explosions in the sky, from good and evil, then david bowie from sorry!, interpol from yeah right!, ... that's all that comes to mind right now

that was tony cervantes in zero's "new blood". that happened to me too, it was lizard king in the pig wheels video "slaughterhouse", it was the track "look back and laugh", bought their discography after and it was like 45 minutes of 20 songs. but they all kick ass

I have tons of other music I've found because of videos, I mostly would just download single songs, not whole albums etc.
